With two competitive races and a non-competitive fitness walk spread over a winter weekend in sunny Florida, we invite athletes of all abilities to join us in celebrating a healthy, active lifestyle.

On Saturday, our Clearwater Halfathon and our Clearwater 5-Miler challenges athletes with multiple bridge ascents, but also rewards them with spectacular views from each bridge's summit. Both courses are entirely within 1/4 mile of Clearwater Harbor and / or the Gulf of Mexico.

Also on Saturday, we are staging our Inaugural Clearwater 5K Fitness Walk, created for those folks who want to celebrate their healthy, active lifestyles while also encouraging those who made better health one of their New Year Resolutions. Our goal is to provide a circled date on everyone's new calendar to come together in the spirit of good health.

All these events start and finish at Coachman Park on Clearwater's waterfront, an easily accessible venue with ample, nearby parking – an ideal location to bask in the winter sun while celebrating your athletic achievement with friends, family, food, beverages and live entertainment.

For our out-of-town athletes, our award-winning, white-sand beaches provide the perfect setting to relax. Ideal average temperatures (50° - 71°) make this a perfect spot for a mid-winter vacation wrapped around a long-distance run or walk.
"I loved the course, it's beautiful; I especially like the corkscrew exit off the bridge on the return, that's different. I came for the Clearwater Memorial Bridge and it didn't disappoint; the Pass Bridge and Sand Key park are keepers too. I think it's a fast course, because the hill inclines are not that steep, and what you lose going up, you make up going down. The variety on the course kept the interest up, to keep up to speed: the hills break up the flat running, there are the views of the water and the shore, the trees in the park and the buildings on the boulevard. And I thought we benefitted from the cold weather, because it encouraged us to exert more - we didn't have to worry about overheating. I also liked the hot pasta dinner after the race."

In addition to offering finisher awards and event overall awards after each race, we will also track each athlete's finishing times and add them together to determine Champions of the Florida Halfathon Series.

Athletes accumulate their total finishing time by completing any three of our four halfathons during each season from Halloween through March. Those athletes who complete all four of our halfathons will have their slowest time dropped automatically.

To recognize our fastest and most consistent halfathon athletes, we will offer special overall and age-group rewards based on three halfathons. We will also recognize athletes who complete all four of our halfathons in a special way, yet to be determined.
